2023 Zinfandel

TASTING NOTES:

The 2023 Cooper Zinfandel has deep ruby-purple color with hues that are starting to acquire a note of carmine.  The aroma of this wine is a lovely marriage of aroma and bouquet.  The aromas are of dark berry fruit; black raspberry, mulberry, and blackberry.  The bouquet is hazelnut and caramel, and something sweet, almond paste perhaps.  On the palate, savory flavors of blackberry and boysenberry transition to creamy oak. The tannins are fully mature and add a full rich mouthfeel without contributing any mouth drying astringency.  A finish of briary dark fruits and flinty mineral dustiness that lingers well after the wine is gone.  If you like Zinfandel with a solid core of succulent fruit and mature tannins, then this is the Zinfandel for you.
